Best… Conference…. EVER!!!

Nevada has always established itself as a remarkable state. Whether it’s the vibrant gaming scene, the breathtaking heights to explore on the High Roller, or the FBLAmenal and FBLArilliant members who were chosen to represent us at the National Leadership Conference, it has never been hard to talk about how FBLAbulous we are!

This awesome conference has only made it easier to talk about how great Nevada FBLA is. A pure competitive spirit overtook our little state, and we have had more people place on the national stage than we have seen in years! Although I was unable to place in Banking and Financial Systems with my partner, it did not dilute my excitement for my fellow members. It is an honor to be leading so many caring and intelligent individuals. I hope they talk about how I handed them pizza at the conference when they go over significant events that occurred before they got famous! I’m just kidding... I KNOW they’ll talk about it!

Now I think I have spent enough time gushing over the best state ever. Let’s talk about our hosts! Atlanta has been so great that I’m almost willing to overlook the humidity I experienced! I got to see interesting creatures at the beautifully built Georgia Aquarium, try some unique soda at Coke World (Beverly was quite the surprise), watch my friends rock climb at Zoo Atlanta, and ride a long (and slightly frightening) escalator at the CNN Center. Also, the hotels are all CONNECTed via Skywalk, so I didn’t have to go walk through humidity in my suit. It was a great week of new experiences.

Beyond being a tourist, I got the chance to personally meet with members to congratulate them for making it this far. Whether or not they made it onto the national stage, they deserve to remember that they are the pride and joy of our state and have every right to represent Nevada as winners.

I’ve been to two Southern Region Conferences, three State Business Leadership Conferences, one National Fall Leadership Conference, and one other National Leadership Conference throughout my FBLA career. Despite being to so many events, I can easily say that the 2016 National Leadership Conference has been my favorite one to date. Not only is it a great lead into the 75th year of our amazing organization, but I have been able to serve my state in an extraordinary competitive year and visit a friendly city. I saw several restaurants pasting posters welcoming FBLA-PBL to Atlanta. The Hard Rock even made a shirt to commemorate our visit!

I cannot wait to continue watching FBLA grow in our “Legacy of Leadership”. It’s going to be FBLAwesome!
