The National Officers have had a busy year and have been hard at work accomplishing projects to help members across the nation. One of the projects that we have been focusing on is Dress to Win Wednesday. Dress to Win Wednesday is a project where once a month FBLA members dress in business attire on a Wednesday to help recruit new members and promote the importance of dressing for success. Hundreds of members across the nation have participated including members from Nevada! Thank you for your support of this national project!
The National Officer Team has made it a goal to make you more successful in achieving the next level of the BAA’s! The first step was creating the BAA tutorial, which is a slide show that goes through every step of the new BAA program to help members and advisers better understand what they need to do in order to succeed in the Business Achievement Program. The tutorial is now available on the BAA website. It gets better! The National Officers have also created a Hotline for members and advisers to call and ask questions or make general comments. The Hotline has been a great way for members to communicate with National Officers directly.
A project that was created in Nevada has gone national! Service in Sync is a project that encourages members to participate in a synchronized service project during FBLA-PBL Week. This year, we focused on Elementary Education Literacy where members were encouraged to visit elementary schools and read to the students there. Nevada took it a step further by holding book drives across the state.
You and the National Officers can now be “Facebook Official!” It’s easy, just “like” the pages! National Officers all have an “FBLA Position” page on Facebook. This is a great way for members to stay updated on items that each individual officer is doing throughout the year. These Facebook pages are a great source of information for what is going on with the National Organization. You can also find us on Twitter because all of the National Officers have Twitter accounts! Send us a Tweet sometime!

Every year during the second week of February, members celebrate their membership and all of the exciting things that FBLA has done in their lives by celebrating National FBLA-PBL Week Chapters are encouraged to use this time to publicize their activities and successes, boost their membership, and gear up for their spring activities. Nevada was out in full force this year celebrating everything from Adviser Appreciation Day to our Service in Sync project.
This year, Nevada FBLA decided to host a book drive to support the national theme of elementary school literacy. Schools across the state collected new children’s books to donate to local elementary schools by using marketing strategies and other important business skills that they learned in FBLA to help the community and better themselves.
Wednesday is a big part of FBLA-PBL week being both Dress to Win Wednesday and Adviser Appreciation Day. With so many great teachers and advisers this day provides the opportunity to give something back. Regardless of whether it was a small card or decorative fruit baskets, members showed their creativity and appreciation throughout the state.
“I just feel like my advisor gives so much to our organization with support and encouragement, it’s only fair that I give something back in thanks,” says State President Vivian Lee.
Congratulations Nevada FBLA for another outstanding FBLA week!
