Business Achievement Awards
Now that the school year is in full swing, and we’ve all swapped our bathing suits for book bags, it’s time to carefully consider the future of our school year. Many local chapters across Nevada have hit the ground running with membership, fundraising, and even competitive event preparation! We are so excited that our members are raring to begin the 2017-2018 membership year! Besides engaging competitive events and motivating conferences, FBLA has many other valuable programs that help bring out the leader in you throughout your year.
This month, the spotlight will be on the Business Achievement Awards (BAA’s). This program is a high school leadership development program that is easy to integrate into high school life. Students enhance their leadership skills, expand their business knowledge, contribute to their local communities, and earn recognition each step of the way by immersing themselves in their school, community, and FBLA programs. Chapter advisers direct students through each level, while students work at their own pace to independently complete projects. There are four levels of the BAA’s, with each level increasingly challenging high school students to expand their leadership skills and showcase their talents.
The four levels include the Future, Business, Leader, and America awards. Upon completion of the first three levels, members receive pins and are recognized at their State Business Leadership Conference. Upon completion of the America Award, members receive a pin, a $1,000 scholarship** from Nevada FBLA, and are recognized at the National Leadership Conference! The BAA’s are an extremely beneficial way to build upon your leadership skills, and receive an extra $1,000 towards your undergraduate studies.
What a better way to Elevate Your Future than getting a jumpstart on the Business Achievement Awards! For more information, ask your chapter adviser, a state officer, or visit http://www.fbla-pbl.org/fbla/programs/education/baa/ . The Nevada FBLA state officer and leadership team hope you have had a great start to the new year, and we wish you an extremely successful year!
